We have a number of burlesque classes across Liverpool and Wirral for both beginner and intermediate/advanced burlesque performers! Our burlesque courses are so much more than just a dance class. We aim to equip you with tools to support you on your journey as a burlesque performer focusing on self development, community building and building your unique and authentic burlesque persona. Expect themes including burlesque history, exploring personal and societal barriers, career development, tackling nerves, accessibility, building an act and more.
Our burlesque classes are for EVERYONE aged 18 and over. We strive to provide spaces that are safe and accessible for all. We are pro LGBTQIA+, Black, POC, d/Deaf and disabled, fat, immigrant, women, sex worker & other marginalised identities; and we will always be political until there is no longer a need to be.
Once again we are funding a minimum of 3 FREE spaces this term, that are available for people from additionally marginalised and underrepresented groups. If you would like to apply for one of these free spaces, please email thesparerib@outlook.com. We particularly encourage Black people, people of colour, trans people and visibly disabled people to apply for these places. We have also put an option to purchase ‘pay it forward’ part payment tickets if you are able and would like to help someone who may not be able to otherwise attend. These can be added to your basket when purchasing your course tickets.
Accessibility: our Liverpool classes are wheelchair accessible. Our Wirral classes do not currently have wheelchair accessibility as these are up a flight of stairs.
